This is a far from complete list of Dublin's city centre restaurants, but it does cover a range of cuisines and prices from cosmopolitan to asian gastronomy, and good value to quite expensive food. Dining out is a part of any weekend break or short vacation, so make the most of what Dublin has to offer. There is also a "one liner" to sum up each venue, so take your pick.
Alilang is a Korean Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's City Centre.
Brooks Hotel (4 star) restaurant offers a good value early bird menu in nice surroundings.
Brasserie Sixty6 is a US style dinner and serves throughout the day, often with musical accompanyment.
Cafe Cairo (Trinity Capital Hotel) is a medium priced restaurant on Grafton Street.
Cactus Jacks is the one for Mexican food with good value at lunchtimes when main courses below 10 euros.
Cafe Sorrento is on both sides of the river Liffey and is perfect for a coffe and a snack.
The Cedar Tree is a "Lebanese" restaurant and has been around for a while.
Cafe Mao is a city centre asian restaurant that is cheap and cheerful.
Chai-Yo is (I think) Japanese as it specialises in "Teppanyaki" (table-grilled) food.
Cookes is a fairly exclusive restaurant off Castle Market Street and it serves a cosmopolitan and pricey cuisine.
Donnybrook Fair Food Hall and Restaurant is an 80 seater cafe that opens early and closes late.
Diwali is, you guessed it, an Indian restaurant and the more prudent will eat here at lunchtime.
Fallon & Byrne is close to Grafton Street and is a large food hall with a French restaurant.
Green Bistro is located inside the Holiday Inn and has a well known and good value mixed grill.
Ho Sen is a restaurant offering Vietnamese food.
The Saddle Room (Shelbourne, Renaissance Hotel) is a typical steak and seafood eatery.
Mona Lisa is a good value Italian restaurant near Trinity College.
La Peniche is an award winning restaurant on a boat and you can have a river cruise too.
Maloti is a smart Indian restaurant with a good reputation and nice decor.
Nostromo is a place to have lunch with a good mix of dishes and fair prices.
The Octagon Bar is in the Clarence hotel and there is a "bar menu" from late morning to 10.00pm.
Peploes is on Dawson Street and is an exclusive and expensive wine bar come bistro.
Phoenix Bistro and Wine Bar is near Jervis Street and is an ideal lunchtime eating solution.
Ruby Blooz Brasserie is a brasserie and you get the best deals if you eatbetween opening and evening service.
Saffron is one of Dublin'ss Indian restaurants and is OK price wise.
Solas is a bar that serves a variety of "fast" food.
Trocadero is knowm as the "Troc". It is one of the city's oldest restaurants and serves some Irish cuisine.
