Dublin Weekend Break
The Joyce Centre
The Joyce Centre is set in a late eighteenth century town house which was in fact never a home to Joyce himself. The centre promotes Joyce, his work and anything and everything connected to him and his writings.
The centre offers exhibitions as well as lectures and talks by guest speakers and the building is also of interest to Joyce fans. The Ulysses café within the house has a French theme in keeping with Joyce’s many years in Paris.
One of the reasons for Joyce’s fame in Dublin lies in the landscapes of his novels which were always based in Dublin and the surrounding countryside. Taking a lead from this, the Joyce Centre offer a number of walks aimed at illuminating Joyce’s city and these are available on Saturday for a cost of approximately 10 euros.
