Dublin Weekend Break
Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse is the most visited attraction in the whole of Ireland and is the home of the world renown beverage of Guinness. The attraction is located across no less than seven floors of the St. James’s Gate Brewery and charts the rise and rise of the famous drink.
The Guinness Storehouse opened in 2000 and traces the 250 year evolution of the company and its drink. The attraction has had over four million visitors since opening and has been visited by numerous giants from the world of show business as well as US presidents.
The exhibit itself is built around a giant Guinness glass and guests ascend the Storehouse’s various levels whilst learning about the brew and how it is made. The centre cost millions of euros to build and has seen almost continuous additions and improvements to its services since then.
For many, the "high" -light of the tour is reaching the “Gravity” bar which sits in the head of the giant Guinness glass and doubles as the highest bar in Dublin. The views cover 360 degrees and show the city of Dublin from a unique standpoint. There is of course a complementary Guinness included.
Other highlights of the tour include Guinness tasting under the supervision of a company expert who explains what you should look for and taste in the perfect pint of Guinness.
